Stunning Debut for Jenson Button and Brawn GP

In Sports on March 29, 2009 at 15:10

jenson-buttonJenson Button did it! He managed to keep his pole position from the beginning of the race and won the first Grand Prix in Australia. Button, who was almost to leave the F1 championship because of Honda’s initial withdrawal, finished the race behind the safety car due to a late accident between Vettel and Kubica. None of the two Ferraris finished the race due to technical engine and gear box problems posing questions about the competitiveness and readiness of the race car. Hamilton also didn’t rise to his World Champion title and finished the race 4th but managed to make it to the podium after a +25 sec penalty was charged to 3rd finisher, Jarno Trulli. This was the first time since 1977 that a F1 team wins on its first race. Congratulations to Jenson, Barrichello and the whole Brawn GP team! I think it’s about time the McLaren-Ferrari duo is broken..
