The Rotating Mind Test!

Follow these steps..

Step 1: watch this video once

Step 2: which way was the dancer rotating? If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain. If anti-clockwise, you use more of your left brain hemisphere.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise. since most of us are right-handed which means, our left part of the brain is working more!
Though you can try to focus and change the direction; try it. People who are able to switch the direction during the same viewing of the video, usually have IQs higher than 150. Also Women tend to see clockwise, more than men…

Step 3: try to control your mind: play the video again, close your eyes, imagine the direction you want then open your eyes and the dancer will be rotating towards that direction.

Also, you can try to activate different brain functions of the corresponding hemisphere. If you are seeing the dancer turn clockwise the first time , try solving a sudoku puzzle at the same time. This involves use of logic, math, detail orientation, strategy forming, practical thinking and pattern perception, all of which are left brain functions. When activated, more electrical energy is taken up by your left hemisphere and so you can perceive the dancer turning, anti-clockwise.

Left-brain functions: uses logic, detail oriented, words and language, past, maths and science, can comprehend, acknowledges, order/pattern perception, forms strategies, practical, safe

Right-brain functions: uses feeling, ‘big picture’ oriented, imagination rules, symbols and images, future, philosophy and religion, believes, appreciates, knows object function, fantasy based, presents possibilities, impetuous, risk taking
